GET INVOLVED
The simple act of putting a seed in the soil and helping something to become, is far more meaningful than just the act of growing food itself.
Apprenticeship
Growing food, like most everything humans do, doesn’t just emerge out of some unconscious instinctive drive. The ways in which we tend to the land and feed ourselves and our communities have emerged out of generations of practice and shared knowledge and experience. These cultural artifacts and traditions, so essential to the thriving of every society and community for the whole of modern humanity’s existence, have in so many places been stripped from peoples’ hands and fallen into obscurity. This program offers students from diverse backgrounds an introduction into agriculture through the lens of working with plants that are culturally relevant to them.
